Public Health

The American Chiropractic Physician Association believes that Public Health goals are the foundation for all health care. Mainstream medical focus should be on improving public health, with the ultimate goal being the increase in the number of healthy years and improved quality of life, not just life extension.

All physicians DC, DO, DPM, MD, ND, and OMD's contribute to United States Public Health. Public health is the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting health through organized community efforts.

These include control of contagious infections, hygiene, early diagnosis and preventive treatment. It requires understanding not only of epidemiology, nutrition, and antiseptic practices but also of social science.

The American Chiropractic Physician Association believes that Public Health beliefs are the foundation for all health care.

As physicians and public health professionals, we value the cooperation, collaboration and respect for the contributions those individual members of health care professions offer to our communities. The American Chiropractic Physician Association pledges to treat each health care provider with respect, and to honor the dignity and value of each member’s impact on our nation’s public health.
